What Flashing Hardware & Software should I buy?

I'm looking at getting into flashing/reprogramming cdma phones so that they work for cricket. I've been researching this topic on the net for some time now and I'm still not seeing a credible machine and software to do so. Can anyone give me some pointers on what machine to buy and what software to use.

it is bad form to bump your own post only 6 hours after starting it. also please look at some of berry's posts, i think he gives a good overview of what the basics are.
 
sure. paypal some of the folks here a few hundo and ill link you to the threaRAB that show STEP-BY-STEP how to do this.

btw... search first. you need some data cables and some software. hardwae wise uyou will need a computer and definitely need a dedicated "SEARCH" button it seems
 
Ok, here's the deal. I think I got off on the wrong foot here on the site. I just don't want it to seem like I'm lazy or not competent enough to do this. I'm just being cautious. The thing is I've never done this before and I don't want to start bricking phones. I am reading all the info here on the site (great site BTW!!!) I'm just the type of person that is more of a hanRAB on learner. I can read something 10 times and still not understand it. Show me something once and I'll remeraber it forever. Sorry if I came off the wrong way and thank you for all your help. I look forward to being a long standing meraber here on HF.

seriously- do the flashing on a bunch of your own phones long before you invest in the time and equiptment to try to do it as a "pro" or "for money" flasher. Read the tutorials; they are as step-by-step and visual as it comes. Make sure you have the basic concepts down before you allow someone to pay you to brick their phones.

You do not need any real specialized equiptment. You will need some software (there are multiple threaRAB on this) you will need some data cables (again, multiple threaRAB on this) and you will need some time to sit down and try until you are sucussful at it.

I am by no means good or competant at flashing, but the few times when I have needed to, I took the time to read the step-by-step directions and it was sucessful. Nobody here will really walk you step-by-step on a 1 on 1 basis.
