What fish should i get for my 40 gal tank?

im thinking of getting a tyre track eel, a fire eel, peacock eel, or a bichir . But are theyre any other cool fish other than cichlids (because i already own a cichlid tank) that i can keep in my 40gal. Also are any of the fish i listed above able to live with each other?
my cichlids will be in a different tank

Best advice I have for you is to ask the fish store which fish are aggressive - you don't want to mix aggressive and non-aggressive. One in particular you should watch for though, the plecostomis - they have them as non-agressive, but if you get a male and he comes into his prime, he will 'attack' anything he can catch.

I think an awesome fish to get will be an arowana. They grow b=pretty big and thwir amazing. Get a red one.
