Quite honestly,I have not been totally blown away by Blu Ray as I thought I would. For a lot of the films I've watched,I can not tell any major difference than compared to standard dvd.Into The Blue was definitely the best picture I've seen, and it helped to have all those gratuitous shots of Jessica Alba's beautiful ass swimming underwater!!
The last Blu Ray I saw was The Fly,which I have on standard dvd.I had both my standard and the Blu Ray playing at the same time, flicking between them and pausing occasionally at the same point in the film, but seriously could not see any major improvement.
Admittedly,my tv is 720p max,and I watch the discs upscaled to 1080i.If anyone has upgraded their set from one to the other, did you notice a marked improvement in picture quality?
I haven't yet seen any animation or documentaries though, which are supposed to show just how good the format is.
From my fairly limited experience of Blu Ray,Into The Blue would be a worthy disc to show off your new kit. It's worth it just to see Jessica Alba's kit!
