What film was this...

it's based around a church in the USA (I think)

Several experts are called upon to examine an object in a church that is cylindrical hidden in a basement.

It appears to be the antichrist or at least, a gateway for it.

They send a message (or recieve one) to warn themselves about what is going to happen.

The populous gathers around the church & kills anyone that tries to leave.

An entitity uses a mirror to try to get into this reality.
