What Film Really effected you after u watched it?

I watched 'Artificial Intelligence' on tv a couple of years ago and I don't know what it was, but the film really got to me.
It was about a boy robot who wanted to become human so his 'mother' would love him as much as she did her own son.
So he began searching for this angel that would grant him this wish.
I was a bit emotional at the time while I was watching the film and because of that I was imagining that the angel really existed and wanted her to come and wipe all of my problems away, weird, I know.
The music and the floaty feel of the film was very atmospheric.
 
Got to be Shawshank Redemption.

And the Killing FielRAB. Its 21 yrs since I saw it at the cinema, was given freebie tickets. Never watched it since. Never want to see it again. Dont need to, because I know I wont ever forget just how worthless human life was to that regime. :cry:
 
I was thinking back to when i went to see The Passion Of Christ. I had read alot of the reviews, seen the stories on the news etc etc...however nothing prepared me for what it was like.

It was so utterly compelling, so moving, so sad, so profound (ok we all know whats in the bible) but when I saw that film I was literally speechless - it was so hard hitting and shocking and so unbeleiveably sad, yet what i was left with (and im not particuarly religious) was a huge appreciation for what one man did for mankind.

I sat there in the cinema and cried and cried and that heavy feeling didnt leave me for a long time afterward.

I think thats the most profound effect a film has ever had on me. What about everyone else?
 
Irreversible

This was probably the most shocking film ive ever watched. There were 2 scenes in it that made me feel physically sick. The film itself was excellent, but i found it very disturbing. I could never sit through it again though.
 
Donnie Darko - I was thinking about it for days after.

The Green Mile, Schindler's List and The Pianist - for obvious reasons

Really enjoyed Seven too - quite the thinker
 
Alien 3 nearly made me cry at the end... for the wrong reasons

Star Wars ep4 of course - every male who saw it in the seventies will never forget it

Films with downbeat endings stay with you - Brazil is one that springs to mind.
 
Good way: The Matrix, Fight Club, Spider-Man, Donnie Darko
Bad: Requiem for a Dream....
such a horrible ending, felt so depressed afterwarRAB I couldn't sleep :(


Films rarely affect me, wish they did because it's really good when they do (in the good kind of way, obviously).
 
The Butterfly Effect. I even broke the DVD when i went to take it out because my hanRAB were shaking and i knocked over my DVD player. Silly me. :o
Scum. That's just pure awful. Amazing film but hard to watch.

Butterfly effect is one of my fave films.. didnt really effect me much but I really enjoyed it (prefer the unhappy ending on the dvd though).

The blair with project - Thought the film was so-so.. however the ending did effect me.. driving home from the cinema I started to think about it and got very scared.. thing is the 'impact' of the ending is only had if you were paying attention to the interviews near the beginning. So many ppl just didnt get why the guy was stood in the corner of the room.

Hide and Seek - Didnt see the reveal coming and it had me thinking after the film had ended.. I enjoy watching this film even now I know what happens.
 
Star Wars / Empire Strikes Back- I missed out on Star Wars first time round and Empire Strikes Back! Between that time and Return of the Jedi they had a Star Wars double bill. I went to see it and it took my breath away. I saw those films every week for about a month and a half.
