What exactly are you paying for at top end restaurants when?

the food portions can actually fit into the palm of one hand? ( ^ _ ^ ) What? Am I paying for the "ambiance?" Its sure as heck isn't the meal! You came in hungry and you're leaving out even hungrier!

Edit:

Put it this way, you know you're not in for a hearty meal, when everything on the menu looks to be the size of a parfait. ( ^ _ ^ )
