What else will we need for newborn grooming/diaper changes?

Hey there. First time parents, and here is what we already have:
wipes
diaper rash cream
baby lotion
baby body wash
baby oil
cotton squares
nail clippers
baby brush

Can you suggest anything else? We are set with the first aid stuff and medicine, just wanted to make sure we are well stocked with the grooming supplies. Thanks!
Yeah, I forgot to mention: we do have diapers, baby tub, towels, washcloths, all of that jazz. Thanks!

baby powder to keep baby dry can use it on more than just diaper area. tooth brush. oh helpful hint. ur baby will be growing out of clothes faster than u can buy them. have one or 2 nice outfits for each stage but until he? starts school, buy most of ur stuff from a thrift store. this way u save money, don't care if they get the clothes dirty and can let them play on the floor without the oh my that 20.00 dollar dress or suit will be ruined... oh and bibs... with the prices of diapers and formula the money will be spent fast enough. good luck.

I like using a very-fine grade nail file for the nails instead of clippers - you might consider it. That way there is no possibility of cutting them if they wiggle while you are doing it -even cutting nails when baby is sleeping can be tricky.

Many drs still recommend cleaning around teh umbilical cord stump with rubbing alcohol. It is a useful thing to have in any case

I agree that you will probably want vaseline at some pt - or one step better is a very thick vaseline called Aquaphor. Our dr recommended it for treating dry skin (which many babies have), and it can also be used as diaper rash cream/barrier. I tihnk it is def. worth having from the start

A nose bulb syringe is also good to have for congestion. I don't know if I would count that as medical or grooming or what.

I also didn't see baby shampoo on your list, though it is very similar to baby body wash and you could probably use either.

Otherwise it sounds like you pretty much have it covered!

Vaseline - you use it as a barrier when they are new, If you don't put Vaseline on the first poops (meconium) is really hard to clean off of their bum.

gripe water, nice fluffy towels and wash clothes, baby wash tub (I find it easier than the big tub).
