What else can I try , to find my cat who got outdoors ?

she got out around 5pm Sat. May2. Neighbor spotted her on their porch at dawn on sun. May 3. But as of today Wed. May 6, nobody else has seen her and we've walked approx. 20 blocks sq., day and night, every day. posters w/pic, told mailman, spoke to neighbor kids, put ad on craiglist with street sq. area & phone #, called local shelters, haven't called police station yet for reported found animals, and haven't called vets' yet ; that feels like asking if they were found dead or hurt.
we miss her very bad, but 'brother cat' is almost grieving her absence.

Contact your local shelter and see if they have a humane trap you can borrow. Usually they'll let you use one for just a small donation. If they don't have them then shops that rent tools and equipment should.

Your cat's most likely just running around scared close to your house. So if you put a trap with very stinky food in it - canned tuna, mackerel, etc - right by your front door you're very likely to capture her. Check the trap very often, though, as you may end up trapping other neighbourhood cats or possums.

Does she have a collar on with ID or is she microchipped? Have you tried knocking on doors? If she didn't have a collar on someone may have just thought she was a stray and has taken her in. You should call the local vets. She could have been brought into a local vets and they're holding her there and just haven't had a chance to let animal control know they have a found cat.

I heard that cats have like a homing device so they always know where their home is, but i don't know if its true. My cat goes out all the time and he comes home fine. One of my cats doesn't go out, yet she sneaks out. She comes in once she has her fill of out doors. Good luck though. I'm sorry if you don't get it back.
