What DVD Rental services are there at the moment?

You've come out with some really strange arguments on this thread:

"why dont they look after the customers they have by providing a better quality disc without scrathes"

Surely the scratches are mostly put there by careless customers? Is there really such a massive difference between the staff/customers at Blockbuster and those at an independent rental store?

"the priceless reply I got was...'I was just told to go stand outside & hand out leaflets'"

Surely that answer was the best possible reaction to your questioning? Even if the guy does have views on his employer and the video industry, would you really expect him to debate the matter with you in the street? On company time?

"Do you want a future where your supplied by illigal immigrants providing you with poor quality & incorrectly titled movies ?"

Can you back up this xenophobia with any evidence? Surely small outlets would be far more likely to employ illegal immigrants on a cash-in-hand basis than large businesses?

"Downloading is the business model thats not working...hardly one click is it?Whats easier than slipping in a disc & pressing play & getting an excellent picture & great sound?...& no splashing out

What people like you forget is most people that download films already have the equipment so they are actually getting better value for money. (Sorry, thought I'd mirror your tone of voice).

Using an existing resource for something extra is a bonus surely?

'Be More Pacific' While you may not like the fact that DVD Rental is still around, just,I do.Moreso I hope it survives as the business models that have damaged DVD rental are in my opinion not so user friendly,& I would like to see some choice in the market.I do not like Blockbuster,& even more so these days.As for internet & SKY I do not want to shell out

I'd like to see more choice too. I'm annoyed with LoveFilm at the moment because I recently discovered they have a Pay As You Go scheme, but they wouldn't let me switch to it because I used to be an Amazon customer. I'm debating whether to cancel. (Especially as winter is coming and there's more to watch on TV.)

I hardly watch films on television(unless you meant actual programmes), I believe they are nearly always edited in some way, mostly for time frame?
