what ducati is best for me?

im thinking of buying a ducati and i have narrowed it down to the hypermotard 796 and the monster 696. price isnt a big deal as they cost pretty much the same. which one would be better for everyday driving and which is more fun on the road, im not planning on going to a track
 
If all of your riding will be normal street riding then the monster is more fun and better on the street. But why are you only looking at Ducati? We sell Ducati, as well as all of the Japanese bikes at the shop I work at. I work in the service department and as another guy said..Ducks are VERY high maintenance. When you walk into our service department it's odd to see so many Ducati's in for service compared to the rest. They are sort of delicate, in that you MUST have ALL of the factory maintenance done on time or it WILL give you problems. All of the four major Japanese bikes are pretty much bullet proof. That's just the way it is.
 
I don't get the whole motard thing. Me, I'd get the Monster. It's a real street bike. Personally though, I love my Triumph. Ducatis are kinda high-maintenance. Like a platinum blonde girlfriend.
 
The Monster is the one I think you'd be happier with according to what you're telling us. But even if you do decide to get a little wild every now and again, the Monster will not disappoint.
