Going to NY next week and just sorting out what to take. Going to be eating out at fairly nice restaurants (Gotham Bar and Grill for example) and looking to go for a few drinks in some nice lounge/cocktail bars in the evenings. In the UK jeans with shoes and a shirt get you into almost everywhere these days but is it the same in the US? Can smart jeans be worn instead of trousers to most places or am I likely to get turned away?
