what does it do? what does it sound like when it is blown?

I got 2 12'' Sony Xplods' with a Sony 800 watt amp and it really bumps! How loud can you turn it up without blowing? I just don't want that to happen... i just got them 3 days ago btw with 4 yr warranty.

P.S. Don't say my set up sucks, im 16 and its my fist system and i love it.
if you say it sucks, go ahead if it makes you feel better.

10 points to best answer :]
Hey, TroopeR they guys a Circuit City installed everything so everything should be set up perfectly right?

They do, do this for a living.

just dont turn it up to almost the highest and youll notice pretty quickly if they are blown because the sound will be sorta hallowed.

rj is right if they are blown they are blown.

u can damage the cone though or set it off the pole but i doubt it.

start with the gain pretty much all the way down to start. some claim a break in period, but i doubt it for most subs.

like i say start with the gain down and listen to how it works with what u like listening to, too many just want to rattle the car but u and your friends will be more impressed with good sounding music and with the gain set right bass heavy cd's will be bass heavy and the regular music u enjoy will sound good.
