What does Windows Media Center do?

I just recently bought a laptop for College and actually have Windows 7 on it!
I've been looking around, getting to know my laptop and hover over to this program called WMC (Windows Media Center) and wonder what it does.

Before I start to mess around with it, can you experts tell me what to do?

Try not to use big words, just a simple plain of "what it does" =) Thank you in advance.
 
If you have a TV tuner (a gadget that receives TV signals) media center helps you tune in on those channels and record tv shows.

Basically it helps you keep your media organized. Music, pictures and video, as well as recorded TV shows.
 
opens a portal to the 16 dimension. its pretty badass, ive been there several times, has good restaurants, and plenty of porn
