What does this Ron White joke mean?

"I flew all the way from Flagstaff, Arizona to Phoenix, Arizona because my manager doesn't own a globe."

There's obviously something I'm missing, because I just don't get it. I understand that Flagstaff and Phoenix are very close, being in the same state. Anybody?
 
They are only abut 150 miles apart and it would be quicker to drive than to fly. So basically the joke is that his manager is an idiot.
 
i think it means that his manager didn't know where he was sending him. He must have gotten the locations confused and thought they were farther away or something. it just means he doesn't know where the locations were pretty much... :] hope it helpss
