Can someone please tell me what is a posterior central disc protrusion... I am assuming posterior mean the back of the spine.. A central disc protrusion means that the central part of the disc is protruding straight back, not to either side? If so is this more dangerous to do surgery on? I also have a "posterior annular tear at the same vertabrae... I need help understanding this. I do have horrible pain in my back but it seems to radiate and burn in my left buttocks and down my left leg.. My buttocks and upper back of my thigh burns but the lower calf and outside of my foot cramps and twitches alot epecially when lying down... I am totally confused.. I am seeing a spine specialist to review my old MRI results and compare to the MRI he has ordered
