L3-4: There is diffuse disc bulge. There is bilateral facet hypertrophy.
There is no central or lateral stenosis.

L4-5: The is diffuse disc bulge. There is superimposed right paramedian disc herniation measuring 4 to 5mm. in AP dimention. There is bilateral facet and ligaamentum flavum hypertropy.
There is mild central stenosis. The neural foramina are patent bilaterally.

L5-S1: There is a 4 to 5.0mm left parmamedian disc herniation. There is impingment of the left S1 nerve root. There is mild central canal stenosis. The neural foramina are patent bilaterally.

I herniated the first disc in 1985 (L4-5) and spent one year in bed, got better despite the HORRIBLE agony I had been in.

Then in 2002 had this MRI, because I was in severe pain again and saw the disc above and below the original one, had herniated.
Again, rested and felt OK, had bouts of my back going out with sciatica

Cut to now, its been 8 weeks since I did such a stupid thing- SPRING CLEANING- in my home and now again I'm in a lot of pain. Back pain and of course pain all the way down my left leg to my ankle.

I'm so hoping it goes away enough to be tolerable, but since turning 50 this year.....I'm not so young any more and my body is telling me so!

I have not been to the back doctor since 2002, I am soooo scared!!!
Any advise/insight please and thank you!
