The word brainwash was't invented until later on,(its not even in the 1828 Webster dictionary), which I'm looking at right now. Actuality true brainwashing is found in Romans 12:2.

...and belief systems? Is it fair to say that evolutionists are brainwashed?
Is it fair to say that Christians are brainwashed?
Is it fair to say that Muslims are brainwashed?
etc etc

Is it wiser to use another term for more truthful communication?
For example is it better to say that I believe " Jehovah's Witnesses are brainwashed by the Governing Body members' teachings" or " Jehovah's Witnesses are conditioned by the teachings of Governing Body members "

( Governing Body members make all their religious material, teachings )

It means controlling and programming the thoughts and actions of others.

It is extremely rare.

The only examples I've ever seen are the mild ones in the US:

1--wives of alcoholic husbands who become co-dependent
2--children of abusive parents
3--on rare occassion the religious wackjobs like Jim Jones

well, to me, the term 'brainwashed' and the phrase 'dogmatic thinking' are closely related and.......

it's not about WHAT one believes, but WHY.

have you looked at alternate opinions honestly and tried to understand them? with religion, for example, most people do not look outside their country or family's main religion. they were just indoctrinated with one religion (Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, etc etc) and never bothered to question.

Same with politics. If you only read sources with like biases (liberal, conservative, socialist, libertarian, etc etc), and then take what these sources say based off "faith" almost, your opinion is not as likely to be well rounded.
