The warning light on my dashboard that looks like a steering wheel with an exclamation point has been lit for the past week or so. In my owner's manual it says that it is the SPSS or Speed Sensitive Power Steering warning light. The manual says that I should see a dealer for service if it comes on but I'm wondering if it's something I can fix before taking it in and being charged up the wazoo. Anyone know what the light really means, what's the cause and/or if I can fix it myself? I live in a snowy weather area so not sure if the slick road conditions make a difference but the light comes on even before I pull out of my garage so maybe not. Thanks for the help!!
