What does the "MAP" sensor do in a mazda rx7 turbo II?

I am afraid that the sensor may not be working correctly. I was getting 10 psi of boost then I broke the nipple off of it when I was messing with intercooler piping. So instead of paying for that 300 dollar mistake I used jb weld and put the nipple back on. It seemed to work ok but I noticed that 10 psi boost is getting hard to reach.
 
when you repaired it, you may have plugged the passage. taakt ethe fittig apart and blow thru it. If it is clogged, drill out the clog. Beeacause of the prolem, the compuer wants you to give a bunch of money to a dealer so they can RAPE you. After you fix the problem, Unhook the battery cable for several ninutes. Hook the battery back up and drive the car around town and on the freeway for about an hour. This may reset the computer. If this doesnt work you are at thhe mercy of Masda.. i find they arent so bad, If you have lots of geetus
