what does the file-- com.apple.contacts.groups.db ---on a mac contain?

plz someone who is goood at this stuff plz tell me. does it contain the contacts that were on a iphone or ipod touch.

it can be found uner: library\application support\isync\synclocalcopy\com.apple.contacts.groups.db

only on a mac not on a pc
can anyone also tell me how i can open it to see the information in it. thanks comtech309 for the asnwer before but tell me how to open it
 
It is an apple database file. It may not be in text but binary. It does contain your contact information from what ever you have connected to the computer.
