What does Pintle position mean? & how do i find out if my car has special ap or no ap?

I have a few problems on my car. When we used a code scanner it was telling me about pintle position. What does pintle position mean? Also on the scanner it says special? Then under that with ap? or No ap? How i find out if it has ap or not?
I have a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am Se. V6 engine. Please help me out
