What does "=p" normally mean when chatting ?

If someone says something or maybe nothing at all, and put a =p face, what does that usually mean ? I guess what i'm asking is, is that face usually a positive or negative thing ? or both ? thanks*
 
what i know is that it is their sticking their tongue out and i think its positive except if the person send it and went offline and like never talked again and got mad but usually it kidding and positive.

They're just sticking their tongue out at you, maybe teasing you or something. It's not a bad thing.

:P is usually the fun face expression, silly face, just goofing, poking you towards something (ie: Did you go home with her :P?). Honestly it depends on the sentence and how it suits the subject.
