I uploaded a photo to a website that has a limit on the size of photos that may be uploaded. I thought the photo might be rejected if it was too big, but it was accepted, and I was told it would be 'scaled' to reduce the size.
If I had reduced the size myself with photo editing software before uploading the photo, would that have achieved the same result? The site has instructions about how to reduce the size of photos, and I am now wondering if I need to learn how to do this if the site will 'scale' the photos for me when I upload them.
