What does it mean when a girl is willing to joke about being in a relationship with me?

I was hanging with a close girl friend of mine at a dance, and this guy came over that we both know. I don't remember who started the joke, but for kicks, I put my arm around her shoulder and acted like we were in a relationship. He was skeptical, but she did not flinch and then said we had just finished making out backstage. She even commented later that she was jealous about some of her friends making out.
 
Is it possible that you two may be crushing on one another in a way?
How old are you all? I mean sometimes when friends hang out the longer the friendship lasts the more the feelings can change, just think of it like this:
