I thought I remember a high school art teacher of mine saying that it means something if your whole piece is well done, but the hands and feet are not...I don't think it can actually pinpoint something psychologically, but its probably something like "if your ears are ringing, then someone is talking about you" or "if your hand itches your going to come into money"
