What does it mean if my male parakeet gently bites my finger when im feeding it

out of my palms? I've been feeding my birds by using the palm of my hand but the last time I did it my male bird gently bit my fingers, it didn't even hurt though.

my female bird eats out of the palm of my hand but she hasn't bitten me at all.
My male bird seems more friendlier towards me than the female one. Why is that?
