What does it mean by Line 1 when i plug my ipod shuffle into the car stereo?

What does it mean by Line 1 when I plug my ipod shuffle into the car stereo? Like does it mean that I can categorise my songs? Like one folder for the kids music to one folder for soppy songs etc?? Hopefully someone can tell me! :)
