What does it accomplish to complain about the government's policies if you don't offer

a better solution? Isn't criticism only constructive if a better alternative is offered?

P.S. I don't consider the 9 page pamphlet given by the House Republicans a true alternative seeing as it doesn't include any specifics whatsoever and doesn't address over half the issues the country is facing currently. We need more than just an outline.
Zinger: Are you telling me you didn't see any of the Presidential debates between Obama and McCain?
Too Full: Stimulus bills were started by Bush. He passed a $850 Billion stimulus when the recession started.

what it accomplishes...nada. just makes the insecure losers feel better about themselves...for about a minute.

and I don't think the Democrats know the answer either

yeah throwing money at the problem and not even reading

the stimulus bill sure shows us where the current Administration

is headed

i am sure you do not want to understand...

But any way. First I think this was handed in to meet a deadline.

But even so, if a person has an illness and your not completely sure how to cure it. And another has a curebut it consists of removing the head. It is better to offer criticism and prevent the removal of the head and work together for the cure. We know the removal of the head will kill the patient.

We feel the spending that is going on will lead to years of punishment for your descendants.

Paul M, I couldn't agree with you more.

Adam, "You say you want a Revolution? Well, its all right. We all want to change the world." like Obama already has started...
(the Beatles)
"...and let it begin with me..." I'll eagerly face you on the battlefield, cause I'd rather risk being dead than to have the likes of you walk the earth.
(Jill Jackson Miller)

i don't think proposing and signing a 1000 page, trillion dollar plan without even reading it is such a stellar idea either.

"DON'T YA KNOW, TALKIN' BOUT A REVOLUTION SOUNDS : like a whisper..." ----Tracy Chapman

"Ideas cannot be fought except by means of better ideas. The battle consists not of opposing, but of exposing; not of denouncing, but of disproving; not of evading, but of boldly proclaiming a full, consistent and radical alternative." ---Ayn Rand

Quotes such as these always remedy my frustration in regards to what your implying: that we need some radical solutions and but soon.

I don't know why, because I'm not sexist, but it always strikes me in an ironic manner that women idealists come across more courageously and aptly and more consistent than men do. At least in modern times.

Yes, this battle requires something other than complaints and shallow equivocations bandied about in a 9 page brief. It requires a radical approach; an approach that, unlike the mere mention of "change", provides a ration alternative that "boldly" and unflinchingly defines what this change is.

So what you are saying is, if it is a solution that you don't agree with, it is not a better solution, therefore we should just shut up?

What is the matter with the american people keeping more of their hard earned money as opposed to sending it to AIG,GM and whatever earmark?

They could have gave the tax payers the year off from paying taxes. I think that would have done more, quicker than throwing money down an ever widening black hole.

The Republican party as it is presenting itself now, with the notable exception of the current incarnation of good McCain, is set up to do nothing more than to play retail politics. They have become cynical enough to believe that Americans don't really care what happens. They care about what they see on the TV and hear from the friends. Politicians don't have to do government well if they don't think elections depend on good government. Republicans don't believe that winning elections depends on doing good government.
