What does Islamic culture say about women with gap in her front teeth?

I've always had a gap in my front teeth. When people began teasing me about it during adolescence my father consoled me saying it is a sign of beauty according to African and Indigenous culture. So this is what I have held onto all my life when people judge me as ugly because of my gap. I'm much older now and have begun process to revert to Islam. What I'm curious to learn is what does Islamic culture say about a woman with gap teeth, and how would it be viewed if I decided to have the gap closed. Honest answers please.
