What does having lit candles by your radio/stereo (one in your room) do to

the audio or to the system itself? my sister lit candles and had placed them near my stereo and now i can't hear anything out of it..it works i guess but i just can't hear anything
And if u lookd on the manual it would say keep naked flames (i.e. lit candles) away from the system..so it must have an effect or so cuz audio isnt workng..maybe the smoke or heat or idk
