What does cricker do to transfer service to a phone?

It has to be done by them or a cricket representative (we have quite of few of them on this forum).

If you luck up and have one as your buddy you can get it done for free, but if not you'll have to pay the $15 they charge (or the discounted rate people are charging here).

Ok.. I see. I was gonna flash the K1m to cricket and transfer my service but
I might be getting a mogul so I wanted to know. What is cricket doing on there end that allows the phone to change? Is it changing the esn?

All they do is change the ESN nuraber from the phone your currently using to the phone you want to use. And then whatever phone your wanting to use will have to be programmed with your nuraber and Cricket's network will recognize it and allow it to function.

ok 1 more question, I want to backup my k1m before flashing to cricket.
I have FB3, Do I need anything else? b/c I cant get it to connect to FB3?

the only way to do it yourself is if you can change the esn of your new phone to match the esn of the old phone thats already on record w/ cricket
