What does a server do in a restaurant?

write down your order
give it to the kitchen staff
get your drink
give you your drink

make sure your happy & satisfied throughout the whole meal
ask if there's anything they can do to help you like getting you a refill and what not
ask how you like the food
cater to you pretty much
keep on smile on their face even when the customers rude to them
clean up the table when the customer is done eating
does money stuff with cash register

don't forget to tip good

argue with the kitchen staff when they get orders wrong so the customer doesn't complain
get your drinks
argue with the bartender about making your mixed drinks because " their customer are more important then mine"
clean up after you
put up with bull shit from all types of people
do some side work in the back of the kitchen ( rolling silverware, getting ice, refilling the soda machine, etc etc)

plus we don't gert only one table server usually have between 3-5 table sections

all for chump change servers get paid on average 3 dollars an hour salary

so basically when we are at work were just like a circus animal working for peanuts
