What do you want to see next?

For a lot of people multitouch was a big feature that was lacking on Android. As was, true turn by turn navigation. Now that we have these, among other things. What feature, app, or piece of hardware would you like to see come to android?

{Full disclosure} I intend to do a writeup based on the responses I get from around the web.

front facing camera for video chatting?
rfid tagging, for pay on the go type stuff?
a projector screen for projecting?
better integration between home and phone browser

all leading to eventually my phone being the computer to my computer... dock it and have it go to a full keyboard and screen.
and the remote to my media computer...

there's probably more

I would love to see a better multitasking manager, like that of the pre. I know that it cant stay like this, because when the iphone implements it, its going to look pretty.

The ability to group ban developers in the marker who post GARBAGE
No ringcall clips
or any of that ****.

A better gaming platform, but than' can't really be done considering the mass spread of devices and key mapping and non multi touch and blah blah blah.

I agree with Honda. The multitasking could be more elegant and allow the user to have more control.

I think minor UI refactoring and refinements over time will be critical to the success of the Android platform along with better integration of certain areas of the OS. I feel like Facebook could be integrated into notifications better (but this is not really Google's fault, more likely the lackluster Facebook application for Android).

At this point, I think things are going fairly well. Innovations in applications will continue to grow and that will help with the platform along the way.

agreed on some sort of multitasking enhancement
long-press options from the notification windowshade (long-press to delete/archive/reply to email, etc.)
a google docs app, by google
a gdrive for cloud-based access to media/files from the phone
audible notifications for every gmail, not just the first one
umm...?

Long press in notifications would be nice. Instant reply by long press in notification tray and chose reply, forward, delete. Things like this.

HELLLOOOO no one has said this yet but. COPY/PASTE
I know we have copy paste in the browser. It works ok. And its nice. But we need need need copy paste in the email client. When websites send me tracking numbers for orders and I have to write the number down.. on like Paper. and then go to ups.com and type it in sucks. my smartphone should be the able to do this for me. Lol

That and multi touch for games.
Smoother scrolling for browser. I've also noticed. Clicking attached photos in forums lots of the time dont work.
More options in the default messaging app. Like missed call and handcent type stuff stock.

Better, smoother, more music player type music app. It needs to not show ringtones n such.

But I still love Android

Agh!! I cannot believe I forgot mention of the media player in my previous posts Yes, yes, yes the media player needs an overhaul since it is a very important aspect of mobile devices for many people. I love what Google did with "Gallery" and it would be nice to see a flashier and more functional UI for the media player.

To address some of your other concerns, I will agree with xguntherc on Copy/Paste. Yes, Android obviously has Copy/Paste functionality in most parts of the OS... but it is somewhat clunky and annoying to use. I would absolutely love to see something as simple and easy to use as the iPhone in this regard. You cannot fight on this aspect of the OS going to iPhone, hands down. Their implementation of selection and copy/paste is very nice and works wonderful on touchscreens.

Finally, multitouch in games has nothing to do with Google/Android. This is all up to the developers of the games at this point. (as far as I know)

Well if multi touch games Are up to the devs why is there NO multitouch games then. I think they can't use it. But I don't know.

And I don't know if I agree about the iPhone copy/paste being better. I personally like ours much better. I like the simple slide to copy we have. We just need it everywhere. I personally sort of struggle with the iPhones way of doing it. To bad all the phones don't have a trackball. Cuz using it to copy paste would be easy.

Another thing that would be nice is allowing to "rearrange" icons on a homescreen if that homescreen is already full. It is a pain to have to remove icons or move them to another homescreen with open space to rearrange. If you long press an icon and want to drag it somewhere to move it, they should allow for rearranging.

Maybe I am not completely familiar with copy/paste on the Android yet... because I have never done this "slide" that you mention!
