What Do You Want to See in the Samurai Jack Movie?

I just bought Season 4, so I've been thinking quite a bit about the show lately. So, what do you want to see in the movie (other than a conclusive ending, which we already know we're getting and I'm pretty sure everyone wants)?

Personally, I'd like Aku's role to be silent. Uncle Iro's replacement actor is pretty good, but he's one in a big ensemble in Avatar while Aku is one of the central and only characters of Samurai Jack and I'll feel odd seeing any name in the credits other than Mako for that role. It's not as if the show was dialog-heavy anyway, so I can imagine it happening like that.

My main request is probably to have more of the side characters return. The dogs from the pilot certainly, and another Scotsman appearance is pretty much required. My top choice for a returning character would be the Samus-esque bounty hunter girl from Episode XLIV (I felt pretty bad for her and wanted Jack to help get her home back rather than).

Since CN is no longer trying to market the show to kids anymore, there should be no problem with a PG-13 movie. Jack mostly killed robots in the show, so perhaps a source of drama for the movie would be his response to having to kill a human.

The show wans't dialogue-heavy, but Aku was. To silence him would pratically destroy his character, even if I do agree it would be strange not seeing Mako's credits in the film, even if he does get a tribute.

I'd say Gennedy should at least audition Greg Baldwin; according to the Avatar commentary on "The Avatar and the Firelord", he studied under Mako's voice when he entered a play Greg did when he was younger, so he could probably do a decent Aku.

A lot of really pretty pictures to look at, with some thoughtful innovation in the art style. And make everything be cooler and funnier than ever before. Samurai Jack is my favorite action cartoon of all times.

I suspect there is no closure. This show is kind of like Quantum Leap/Lost in Space/Gilligan's Island, where the character never returns home and basically spends his life fighting his enemy.

A fulfilling and good ending. Also The Scotsman has to make a return by default and help Jack find his way back home and possibly some other characters can appear as well.

The movie should give the story closer, they have the opertunity so they should take it.

Also i agree Aku can't be silent, he is a talker even though the show was not. For Aku not to mock Jack which he does every step of the way would not be Aku.

Aww, you took away my exact response. :p

I personally think it only fitting for an epic story of good vs. evil to have a definite conclusion. Besides, to not end the story when they finally have an opportunity to do so would be a wasted one, IMHO, especially since it would disappoint a great majority of the fanbase who've been waiting for an ending to the story since it began several years ago.

Wouldn't it be kind of odd, the final, climactic battle between Jack and Aku, and Aku never say anything? Even though Aku certainly won't have the exact charm without Mako providing his voice, his replacement would certainly be more charming than no voice at all.

Besides the closure, I want this to be the movie that proves that 2-d films still has a place in this world. I also want to see all the people, heroes and characters helping Jack in his final battle against Aku! Sounds pretty sweet!

I disagree about Aku being silent, he needs to talk. What they need to do is have the guy who took Mako's place in Avatar do both Aku and Splinter in the next TMNT movie.

I had always thought that Jack would be aided by his allies leading up to the final showdown:

1. The Scotsman
2. Extor
3. The Princess Bounty Hunter
4. The Shao-Lin monks
5. The Spartans
6. The Triceraquins

I'm more worried about the art staff than the story. Samurai Jack had some of THE BEST art design of any cartoon and it'll be a real shame if the movie can't match the quality of at least The Birth of Evil special.

As long as Gendy is at the helm, I'm not worried about the story.
