so...hears the story. one of the coolest teachers in my school is known to be a little to friendly with the students. so lo-and-behold he ends up dating one of them(who keep in mind is 18)and they do almost every thing except sex(she is still a virgin...so said her current boyfriend but hell who knows) anyway her family found out and she freaked and accused him of rape.

he also lost his job. i think he shouldent lose his job or at least she and him should be suspended until this thing is settled what do you think? and yes the cop are still investigating.

If she's 18 I don't think there is a legal issue, but I bet he loses his teaching licence.

If this is for real how about some links to a news story or two. This kind of thing should be all over the internets.
 
He might be the best teacher in the world, but he's stupid to date a student. Good grief - if she's 18, she's not going to be in school (at least high school) much longer. With the sense of a rock, he should have at least waited until after graduation.
 
I heard it's illegal in Texas regardless of the student's age. The issue isn't age, it's the relationship and the possible conflict of interest and fraternization issue. However, those issues are the province of the institution (the school in this case), not the law. Unless it's written into that state's constitution, county or municiple codes, then if she 18 the police have no business intervening, unless there is actual evidence of rape or abuse. Technicalities and propriety aside, this relationship is in bad taste and he is stupid for not being more discrete.
 
I think that the teacher should lose his job. Even though shes 18, shes still in fucking highschool. That shit wont fly. If he was a professor, on the other hand, it would be fine, but he knew what was in his contract before he started seeing this girl. But that rape charge, thats just bogus. That's her parents wanting to sue the school district for not screening their teachers enough, so they can get money out of their daughters dispair.

That is shitty of that teacher to do. Student/teacher relations are supposedly 'illegal' but the fact remains students fuck their teachers everyday. This particular teacher...needs to get past that feeling of shame and just take advantage of her 'young' meat.
