...It’s an achievement.? "Democracy, the Morning After" What do you think the author means by the quote, "Freedom isn’t a gift. It’s an achievement." The author writes that democracy is more than "glorious rhetoric". What does he mean by all of this? Do you agree or disagree with his views on how we have tried to give democracy to Iraq?
 
You've gotta want it. When you want it, you gotta earn it. Take it. The British certainly didn't offer it to America (well, the king at the time, no offense to any British here), we had to pull shots and take it. There's a lot of people out there who want the ability to do with you as they please. You gotta bite em back and say "no, I am a human being and I have my rights to freedom."
