(Verse 1.)
She had loved him for a long time, but he didn’t know.
She knew how much she cared for him, but she couldn’t let it show.
Friends for too long, stuck in one place.
She didn’t know it, but he felt the same.
In both of their minds, they wondered what if?
Too afraid to climb that mountain,
Too afraid to reach for it…
(Chorus)
So she’d wait by the phone, waiting for his call.
And over on the other line, he was too afraid to fall.
They talked about friends, and they talked about their dreams…
They talked about everything, and who they wanted to be.
When they hung up, they both sighed.
Each thinking about the other one, they were slowly starting to climb.
(Verse 2.)
The years went by, and they both changed.
Moving away to college, but their friendship stayed the same.
Writing letters all the time, and calling when they could.
Talking about the old days, and wishing things were still that good.
Laughing about dates gone bad, and hoping to see each other soon…
Neither wanted to say goodbye, and neither could see the truth…
(Chorus.)
So she’d wait by the phone, waiting for his call.
And over on the other line, he was too afraid to fall.
They talked about life, and they talked about their dreams…
They talked about everything, and what does it really mean?
And when they hung up, they said “I love you” at the same time.
Each thinking about the other one, they were starting to climb.
(Verse 3.)
Ten years down the road, they’ve both settled down.
Living in their dream house, with 3 kids in a small town.
And sometimes when it’s quiet, and the kids are all asleep,
They think about how they used to be,
And how that mountain seemed so steep…
(Chorus 2.)
And she waits for him, he gets his paycheck today...
So she can show him what Jr. did, while his daddy was away.
He walks up to the door, and stops right in his tracks.
‘Cause there’s a picture on the wall, staring right back.
5 people on a mountain, he’s so glad he climbed.
And she knows that Jr. is gonna get away with it this time.
Something I wrote a few days ago... Just getting some opinions on it
It's sorta country sounding, and kinda slow... I'll make a video and put it on youtube eventually...
I'm 16, I've been coming up with songs since before I could write. When I was little my brother was always telling me to shut up cause I would always come up with a song about everything. lol. I didn't start actually writing songs that I wasn't embarrased of untill last year though
That was probably more information than most of you are interested in. lol. Some people were asking how long I had been writing and how old I was and stuff, so I figured I might as well get that out of the way now than go back and edit it in later...
I know it's not the best, but oh well. lol
And I know it's kinda long, and believe it or not, it WAS longer. I made it alot shorter before i finished it...
Any ideas for a name? I can't come up with one
