It's kind of long, but...:)
--B/W--
When I walk down the halls
There are sights and sounds that appall
But as I think to myself
I think about all the people lined up on a shelf
Waiting, waiting to be picked up
By anyone who can scoop up their lives with a small measuring cup
Why don't these people fight with valour
Even where the sights and sounds try to devour?
But what do I know?
I'm just a 14-year-old kid
With this 50-year-old mind
Living in a 5-year old society
With a 9-year-old mentality.
Smiles are too much
When the pain is too great
And when they finally realize all the suffering around the world
It will be too late.
Why do they think humanity is dispensable?
When do they think about the inarguable controversies?
Where is their perfection going to end?
How do they view the world through rose-coloured glasses?
As I look at these people,
And how their behaviour is
I can't help but laugh
About how much they will miss.
Maybe I sound superiour,
Or selfish and "all that",
But what can I say?
I'm a puzzle with all it's pieces.
I'm a riddle without the rhyme.
I'm just a 14-year-old kid
With this 50-year-old mind
Living in a 5-year-old society
With a 9-year-old mentality.
Why do I realize these things?
Why don't they know how it is?
They live in a world of sin,
Simultaneously in ignorance and bliss-
How?
Is is their parents?
Is it the drugs?
Is it Satan,
Or is it just the pressure of some thugs?
Maybe I'm just a fluke,
A flaw, in the system
The system of the human race.
Don't think I'm above it all.
Just realize
That I view the world in black and white-
Not technicolour.
