The constellation I chose is Orion, because it is the easiest one for me to see in the sky. Orion is best seen from December to April. There are many stories about Orion but they all are based around the same principle; he is a hunter or a warrior. He has a club in his left hand and a lion skin in his right. But I also watch a documentary on the discovery channel saying that it is actually Madusa’s head in his right hand another story says he is a hunter in love with one of the seven sisters of Pleiades who would have nothing to do with him, he was stung after stepping on Scorpius and so the Greek gods took pity on him and placed him in the sky as a constellation.

One star that is in the constellation of Orion is Betelguese. This is a supergiant star, more than 1000 times larger than our sun and 20 times as massive. If Betelguese was our sun it would completely engulf the earth and extend as far as mars. The star is anywhere from 495 to 640 light years from earth. Scientists believe that this star could actually be in the process of fusing helium into carbon and oxygen at its core. Which will cause it to blow up into a supernova, which would make the star as bright as a gibbous moon, and you could actually see it in full daylight. This star also has scientists worried because it could cause a gamma ray burst, which could affect the earth if it were to blow up into a supernova.
