What do you think of this, & how better I may have been able to write it?

"I can't stand "Labels" & how people these days will use particular labels to define a person. You're not defined by what you've overcome, but rather how you chose to deal with it & by the life-style choices that one leads. I don't believe in preaching, I simply believe in giving a positive example, by living life the best way we possibly can."

I have used word such as: You're, you've & we... I guess I was kinda generalizing the subject. But originally, I used the words: "I'm" (rather than "you're"), "I've" (rather than "you've") & "I'm" (instead of "we")

- Do you think I should just leave it, or change it back to the way I originally had it, which may come across as a personal note, but also something that other people will be able to relate to???
Hi answerer 1, what do you mean grammar?
So in other words it was originally written out as: "I can't stand "Labels" & how people these days will use particular labels to define a person. "I'm" not defined by what "I've" overcome, but rather how "I" chose to deal with it & by the life-style choices that one leads. I don't believe in preaching, I simply believe in giving a positive example, by living "my" life the best way "I" possibly can."

Thank you, I'd appreciate any of your opinions. : )

How bout:

I believe a person is not defined by the things she has overcome, but rather by how she chooses to deal with those things and by the life style choices she makes.
