Killed Alive
This institution resembled everything she hated about modern society. A human is the most sophisticated biological being on the planet. Yet, like most others, she was tired of being treated like nothing. Like a statistic. Like another pawn in the game of mankind.
She was tired of the world centuries of past minds had forced her to live upon. Tied down by clocks. Tied down by laws. Tied down by people.
She had realised long ago that freedom left a person as soon as they were conceived. Timed for nine months. Immediately weighed. Immediately placed in a plastic cage. They would then remain trapped by society for many years. Before once again being placed in another cage, to be buried and forgotten.
It was the ignorant cycle of mankind. Exploration and adventure left mankind as soon as cities and the urban world were introduced. This concrete prison was the home of many a person. Once again trapped by a job they didn't enjoy. In a place they didn't like. Yet society demands they remain there. Leaving a person without an essential component. A sense of adventure.
This left her thinking. Why do the most intelligent organisms on the planet have the least freedom of all?
All other life has the freedom to roam.
The freedom to love.
The freedom that she desired.
