What Do You Think of This Argument Against "Atheists are Immoral"?

Here's what i say: If the only reason you don't go out and murder somebody it that you believe that if you do you will go to hell, then you are the one who is immoral.
If somebody is putting a gun to your head and saying "if you murder that guy i'll kill you", and you don't murder him, does that make you moral? Of coarse not! You may say "I wouldn't have killed him anyway". If that's the case then why do you say people need the man with the gun (god) to be moral if you say you wouldn't have killed him even if the gunman wasn't there?

Atheists: Would you use this argument against christians saying that atheists are immoral?

Christians: if you believe that atheists are immoral (i know not all do), how do you refute this question?
Spewing bible verses does not make you right. I don't believe those verses are divine. If i spewed Koran verses at you would it effect you? No.
God is the man holding the gun, and if it is not god it is religion (satan, etc). The reason you say atheists are immoral is that there is no threat of punishment if you are an atheist. If hell is the reason for not doing something immoral, you are not being moral, you are not doing something because if you do it will have bad consequences. In my metaphor the bad consequence is a bullet. In christianity is is burning in hell.

To the "make it up as you go along" guy: That's right! That's good! Two thousand years ago it was perfectly ok to kill a 13 year old kid who rebels against his family. That was moral (according to human nature and the bible). Now it isn't. GOOD!
nohome2day: A lot of christians don't live up to their claimed moral values. There is a SLIGHTLY HIGHER % of christians in jail than there is christians out of jail. less than half a percent of jail is atheist. This means that more atheists live up to their claimed moral values than christians do.

I actually try to not talk to Christians about Christianity in real life. I pretty much just nod and smile, which is my standard operating procedure when dealing with crazy people.

"Your Bible is full of questionable morality like raping women captured in war and beating slaves and killing children; I'm sick of defending my values to your kind."

"You can't expect morality or sense from Yahwists.
This is the god who babbled about gays but somehow forgot to tell us, specifically, that slavery, rape and child molestation were wrong."

Your premised is wrong. God is not the one holding a gun threaten to kill anyone for their beliefs.
God only sends Satan and the demons to the lake of fire... For all the humans it is their choice!
Not God's There is not a single Atheist that God will send to Hell. God has gone so far as to reach over and extend his own self made flesh to save each and every one from that torment. They as we often see here on YA curse him. They as do all that reject him make their own choice.
