What do you think of the truckers sending a convoy to Downing Street?

I think good on them! I know their main aim isn't to hold up London, but I hope they do. It'll perhaps show the politicians that they can't just keep hiking up the fuel prices as they please, especially when the prices hit us twice - we pay for our own fuel and we pay for the MPs' fuel too.

It's a disgrace, and the Government doesn't care what we think.

Come on truckers!

I absolutely agree. A bit more peaceful, militant protest is just what we need. Don't sit back and take it, scream at the top of your lung, "I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore." Cheers.

Just a principle on Free Market. as the price went up, truckers should consider moving their jobs or raise their price too. Eventually that no one can afford their lives and no one would contribute to those politicians.

good luck to them.

however, on past performance i think they have a snowball chance in hell of actually changing government policy.

Gordon will talk about the environment and green policy and kyoto and carbon emissions

but it's all about the money.... This Government see car and truck users as an easy cash cow - and they have just had to borrow 2.7 billion to appease back benchers over the 10p tax rate

gordon is not going to give a single penny back to hard hit truckers or commuters

Its nearly time the Government realised that we are the electorate and should be considered. Perhaps when they have sorted out all the fiddles, the new kitchens and all the other rackets, that the public pay taxes for, they might even consider us. I think the truckers are sending the right message to the Government and I believe even some of the members have started, perhaps they are worrying about their jobs, as they should be.
