I'm turning sixteen in just a few days.
i reeeeally want a mustang, but i'm pretty sure my parents wont let me have one. But my aunt has a Mazda Protege, and let me drive it around today. I fell in love with it. It's so fun to drive. I don't know what year, but i googled some of the protege's by different years, and i think i like the 2002 the best. I want it in blackkk.
do you think it's a good first car?
and about looks, do you think it's cute?
how is the gas mileage?
what is your overall outlook on the car?
thanks for alllll of your help(:
another question, what is the average cost for one?
and in what price range would you pay for it?
any info on this car would be faaaantastic.
thanks(:

We have a 2001 Mazda Protege. If I'm honest, I'll choose to drive our 2008 Mazda 6 over it but our Protege really is a good car too. For a 9-year old car with 115,000 miles on it I have to say that it's in really good shape! My wife bought it brand new and it has been one of the most reliable cars I've ever seen.

I would definitely recommend the Protege to anyone. I think our 2001 Mazda Protege is still worth probably in the neighborhood of $4,000.00 (private sale).

PS - The Protege is a sporty car. Not to be confused with a sports car - like the Mustang. Please understand that or you may be very disappointed.

car that old, mazda is good or honda or toyota. I'm a honda guy myself. Cheaper upkeep, reliable, buy manual trans if u can. popular cars, cheap to maintain and get parts for,
