Lips shutter words
Fog forms over glass
Memories fade away
Fantasies never last
Fooled by the lies
Look to the writings on the wall
In the streets among the walking
He struggled just to crawl
Like a guitar with busted strings
Like clock without any hands
The world ran away with his future
Screaming catch me if you can
Left to drown in regret
Sorrowful he sings
He wears the crown of a failure’s dreams
**IF YOURE WONDERING THE MEANING...
i actually wrote this believe it or not on my hand when i was waiting for ted to get out of his history exam after i had finished mine. we were asked to write and essay about what maks a successful leader. when i researched i found that many empires failed because a leader on the thrown tells the empire of his GREAT plan and then never backs it up. in the meantinme all the surrounding empires continue to grow and its just a matter of time before it completely falls. i wrote this on a unsuccessful ruler's fall. BY THE WAY: the break down of the rhyming pattern becomes more and more noticeable as the breakdown of the characters situation does aswell.
lips shutter words
fog forms over glass- the significance of what people say and how it marks like 'fog' over glass covering and taking control filling a blank surface and filling it with substance and idea, something more than empty transparency. word comes from thought, with voice comes listeners and responsibility for what you say.
memories fade away
fantasies never last- nothing lasts forever, memories and promisses get lost in time. ideas of actions never last when they are not put into play, they are nothing but fantasies. empty promises are like words on glass forming a mark but eventually fade away...words never met by actions never last.
fooled by the lies
look to the writings on the wall- saying one thing but not fufiling the duty of words you speak, they become fantasies. 'look to the writing on the wall' meaning turn to a "tragic" end. when i researched this phrase i found that it actually was a biblical reference from the book of daniel where it fortold of the 'demise' of the babylon empire's. i found deminse means the end of existance or activity; termination. representing that when promises turn into lies and failed attempts, destruction is result.
in the streets among the walking
he struggles just to crawl- writing this with the view point of a unsuccessful leader who cant meet expectations, these lines symbloize surrounding empires continuing to achieve advancements not stopping for another empire slowly falling .
like a guitar with busted strings
like a clock without any hands- representing objects potential but lacking key contributing elements to make the overall product work; lacking key elements of an empire inabling it to function.
the world ran away with his future
screaming catch me if you can- the world keeps spinning in orbit, how you spend time planning for the success OR the down fall, leading to events in the future is your time to waste or make. the world does not pause and has no pity on those who fall behind
left to drown in regret
sorrowful he sings
he wears the crown of a failures dreams- the last lines ties it all together. in life AND in a successful leader in running an empire it is important to say what you mean and mean what you say. recognize the realistic oppourtunities and avaibilities of growth and make decisions based upon them. words never last they "fade away like fog on glass" you have to be able to back up words with actions. you cant say things you dont mean, let your words fade away, and let people be mislead and expect what will never arrive. getting lost in fantasies and convincing plans of ideas set up to fail and never attempt to be persued, king or not, IS FAILING. potential is in everone. however, success is in those who speak with awareness, and overcome unfortunate circumstances to achieve goals. when leaders carry empires like the story of my peom they fall. sure they are throned kings but they are crowned with nomore but a failures dreams.
