Its ok. Why don't you use an art community site to get your photography out to the public. Like deviantart.com. Its free. And there are plenty of people on there to help you improve.
Deviant art is like a myspace but for the Art community.

If you wish to remake 'Mystery Door' for more mystery, try a vertical with shadows on the floor.
