Good one, first ask for opinions, then get snarky with the one actual artist-type I know of on this forum.

He's right, though. Instead of translating someone else's designs, you should play around with shapes you make up yourself.

Copying stuff is good technical training, like, but there's a lot to say for having total freedom to make whatever shapes you feel like, when you are learning.

Do something really funky and abstract, like, see where it takes you.

Then try doing the same thing again, but set a goal for yourself. Doodle something down on a piece of paper, then try translating that to 3D.

I don't mind criticism, when It's someone with a genuine interest computer graphics.

Not In someone who Is just trying to raise the post count or spam

but I don't really mind It's a tad amusing reading some of the posts
