The dogs had been wondering when to escape from the city pound. At present, their lives seemed joyless and sad. Gone were the times when they would pee anywhere they wanted, or hump a complete stranger. Now all they had to look forward during the day were their cell walls, a plate of bland tasting gruel, and a mean dog pound administrator whose favorite pet was a white cat whom he brought to work everyday, feeding it the most expensive delicacies for felines he could buy at the organic grocery store.
All the dogs had left were their dreams of one day having those cell walls disappear and turn into shiny fire hydrants or big stacks of juicy ribs.
"Wake up!" one long haired lasa apso barked to his black Labrador friend. "Wuh what, why did you wake me?" his friend responded sleepily, "I was having this dream where I was eating a plate of roasted pork ribs, you know, the ones with plenty of fat on the edges."
