ok well im 16 and my dad is going to get me a car. I get my license soon and my dad says i need a small car to start off with, and i happen to find the car i like witch is the dodge neon(2002) . I told my dad and he says no because they aren't good cars but i really like this car what do you like? o i also like the ford Focus
what do you think of dodge neon's?

I've never known anyone with a good Neon. One I knew cracked a head and the other was burning oil. Buy a different car.
get a honda accord or civic. price value doesnt drop as quick as neon. and last longer, better gas mileage. i have a 96 accord w/ 200 thousand miles (very high mileage) and still running like new. i'm not kidding. i haven't change nothing except oil, tires, fluid, and wiper blades.

My Dad had '98 R/T Coupe, but it had an oil leak. Maybe the new ones are better, but I would avoid.

If you want a rolling piece of crap, buy the Focus. Seriously, the entire Focus interior is tacky and the thing has more recalls than I can count.
The 02 Neon will require routine maintenance, but it's cheap and economical enough that insurance will be good.
Your dad is thinking of the first-generation Neons... the 02 is a relatively good year and they fixed a lot of the problems the first generation had.

Its probably better to get a ford focus. But why not a Honda Fit or Toyota Yaris. Actually the Honda Fit looks better. If you're dad is willing to fork out a little more money a used scion TC is good. Plus it looks more sportier and gets decent gas mileage.
