MGMT have sort of a psychedelic sound, and they've been getting pretty popular lately.

This is part true. The fact remains that a fair amount of the music that has come out of the revivals in question has been quality and well worthwhile.

Stonesour are just another boring, generic alternative rock/post-grunge band. How much longer do you honestly think this style of music is going to last? It's been popular since the 90s so people are going to have to eventually get sick of it.
